Scabies Infection
Scabies infection is a skin disorder caused by a mite infestation, in which the mite burrows into the top layer of skin, causing itching and rash. It is very contagious, spread through skin-to-skin contact, and can affect people of all ages. Treatment with prescription creams, ointments, and lotions can effectively kill the mites and alleviate symptoms. The early detection and treatment of scabies is important in order to avoid further complications. Scabies infection can be prevented by practicing good hygiene, avoiding contact with infected individuals, and washing clothing and bed linens in hot water.
