Protozoosis

Protozoosis is an infection caused by a variety of parasites, including protozoa. Symptoms vary depending on the type of parasite, but can include fever, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and weakness. If left untreated, protozoal infections can be life-threatening. Treatment may include antibiotics, antiparasitic drugs, or a combination of the two. Early diagnosis and treatment are important for the prevention of severe and long-term health complications. Protozoosis is a frequent cause of waterborne and foodborne illness, and plays a significant role in global health.
