Life History of Parasites
Parasites are organisms that live in or on another living being and take their nutrients from them. They can be visible to the naked eye, like worms, or invisible, like protozoa. Parasites can be found in almost all species, even humans. They play a significant role in the development of diseases, but they also have an important ecological role. They can help keep their host population healthy and can serve as indicators of their health. Parasites can also affect the behaviour, reproduction, and immune response of their hosts. Understanding the life history of parasites helps us better understand the diseases they cause and the role they play in their host's health.
