Foodborne Organisms
Foodborne organisms are microorganisms, such as viruses and bacteria, that can contaminate food and cause food poisoning. These organisms can be present in water, soil, and animals, and can enter our food supply through improper food handling, inadequate cooking, and inadequate storage. By understanding the sources and behavior of foodborne organisms, we can reduce the risk of foodborne illness. They can be detected through proper food testing, and by implementing food safety control measures, such as using environment and water testing and monitoring, proper food preparation, and maintaining good hygiene practices. Proper food safety management is essential to ensure safe food products and reduce the risk of foodborne illness.
