Enterobacteriaceae
Enterobacteriaceae is a large family of Gram-negative bacteria found in various habitats, such as soil, water, and the gut of humans and other animals. They are an important group of bacteria because they can cause disease, both in humans and in other animals. They can also be used in biotechnology for the production of enzymes and other industrial products. Enterobacteriaceae are also used in medical research to understand disease pathogenesis and to develop new therapies. The family also plays an important role in food safety since some Enterobacteriaceae species can cause food-borne illnesses.
