Ectoparasites
Ectoparasites are organisms that live on the outside of their host organism and cause harm to the host. Examples of ectoparasites include fleas, ticks, lice, mites, and certain types of flies. These organisms feed off their host’s blood, skin, or body fluids and can spread diseases, cause irritation, and even transmit parasites to humans. In controlling ectoparasites, understanding their life cycle, sources of infestation, and treatment approaches is essential. Prevention includes controlling the environment and using appropriate insecticides and repellents.
