Antimicrobials

Antimicrobials are compounds that kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi and viruses. They are widely used to reduce the risk of infection by preventing the bacteria from multiplying or interfering with the growth of viruses. As such, antimicrobials are an essential tool for controlling the spread of infectious diseases, protecting our health, and preserving food and water quality. Additionally, they can be used in the prevention and treatment of conditions caused by microbial growth in medical and veterinary settings. The use of antimicrobials is vital to the safe and effective functioning of our society and continues to be an important part of public health policy.
