Amebiasis
Amebiasis is a disease caused by the protozoan parasite Entamoeba histolytica. It is one of the most common parasitic infections in the world and can affect both humans and animals. Symptoms range from mild to severe and include abdominal pain, bloody diarrhea, anemia, and liver abscesses. Severe cases can lead to death. Amebiasis is typically treated with medications such as metronidazole or paromomycin. Good hygiene, including frequent handwashing and safe food and water, is key to preventing the spread of this disease.
