Acarology
Acarology is the scientific study of mites and ticks. It involves research in the fields of morphology, physiology, ecology, and behavior of these arachnids. Its significance lies in the identifying and understanding of the various species of mites and ticks and the roles they play in the environment, diseases, and humans. Acarology helps improve medical diagnosis and treatment, and the control of pests, such as agricultural crops, stored foods, and household pests. It also plays an important role in the study of climate change, biodiversity, and the conservation of endangered species.
