Pancreatic Ducts
Pancreatic ducts are part of the digestive system, playing a key role in the digestion of food. These ducts are specialised tubes that transport pancreatic juice. Pancreatic juice contains a variety of substances, such as enzymes, that help to break down food and absorb nutrients. The inner walls of the pancreatic ducts are lined with a mucus layer that prevent the enzymes from attacking the cells of the pancreas itself. The ducts also help to control the release of these substances into the small intestine. The pancreas itself is an organ located near the stomach and small intestine that helps to regulate the digestion and absorption of nutrients. Pancreatic ducts are essential for maintaining the health and proper functioning of the digestive system, and are therefore an important part of overall health.
