Terminal Care
Terminal care is an approach to healthcare that focuses on providing comfort and support to people in their last stages of life. It is typically provided to individuals who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and are expected to live no more than six months. Terminal care includes both physical and emotional support for the patient. Physically, it involves attending to any medical needs the patient may have, providing comfort measures such as pain management and managing other symptoms, and providing psychosocial support. Emotionally, it provides comfort and support for the patient, their family, and other loved ones. Terminal care is essential in providing quality of life for those in their last stages of life, and may be lifelong for some people. It is also seen as a way to help honor and celebrate the life of a loved one.
