Nursing Care
Nursing care is the provision of support and healthcare services to individuals, families, and populations in order to promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health. Nursing care is a key element of the healthcare system, as nurses provide individuals with the specialized knowledge and skill sets necessary to promote, maintain, and restore health. Nursing care is extremely important in the prevention and management of diseases, including chronic illnesses, and plays a critical role in the provision of preventive care and patient education. Nursing care is also important in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and in providing end-of-life care. Nursing care is provided in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, schools, and community-based organizations.
