Health Policy
Health policy is a set of decisions and actions that are undertaken to promote a healthier population, both in terms of health status and access to health services. Health policy covers a broad range of areas, including health care systems, public health regulations, research investments, and access to health services. Health policy can influence population health in a direct way, by directly addressing the health of the population, or indirectly, by influencing the social and economic conditions which can have an impact on the health of communities. Through health policy, governments have the potential to shape the health of their citizens and reduce the burden of disease.
