Geriatric Syndromes

Geriatric Syndromes are a group of complex medical and social conditions that affect older adults and may be associated with a decline in physical or cognitive function. These syndromes can be used to identify, monitor and treat older adults who are at risk of developing age-related health issues, such as frailty, falls and depression. Geriatric Syndromes can help to improve the quality of life of elderly individuals, by allowing geriatricians and healthcare providers to better assess and manage care for the elderly, while also providing a framework to facilitate research into aging and the development of age-specific interventions.
