Comfort Care
Comfort care is a type of palliative care used to help manage physical and emotional symptoms when a cure is no longer possible. It is a holistic approach to symptom management that brings relief from pain and suffering without direct attempts to cure the disease. Comfort care is about helping someone live as comfortably as possible, and it can include measures such as providing adequate nutrition, physical comfort, and emotional, spiritual, and social support. Comfort care is based on the belief that each person should be provided with individualized care that recognizes their condition and wishes for treatment. It is an important part of end-of-life care that can help to improve quality of life and provide dignity in difficult circumstances.
