Peroxides
Peroxides are a class of chemical compounds containing one or more oxygen-oxygen bonds. They are highly reactive and are found in a wide variety of applications. Peroxides are used in industrial, pharmaceutical, and agricultural settings for a variety of purposes. In industrial settings, peroxides are used as catalysts and oxidizers, as well as agents to improve the performance of polymers and other materials. In the pharmaceutical industry, they are used to synthesize drugs, as well as in cosmetic formulations. In agriculture, they are used as disinfectants and as herbicides. Peroxides are also used in the food industry as bleaching agents and preservatives. Overall, peroxides play an important role in many industries and are important components in innumerable products.
