Oxygen Consumption

Oxygen consumption is a measure of the efficiency of metabolism in living organisms. It is a measure of the amount of oxygen taken in by the body and used to produce energy. Oxygen consumption is used to evaluate the respiratory fitness of an individual and to assess the physical condition of individuals with health conditions such as heart disease. It is also used to measure the metabolic rate of an organism in a laboratory setting. Oxygen consumption can be indicative of the overall health of the body, and it is a useful tool for monitoring and improving physical fitness.
