Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry is the study of the chemistry of organic compounds—molecules composed of carbon and hydrogen atoms, and sometimes other elements like oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur. Organic molecules are found in all living things, and they are responsible for the chemical processes that occur in the body, such as digestion and energy production. Organic chemistry is an important field of scientific research and is used in many applications, such as medicine, agriculture, and industry. Through the study of organic compounds, scientists can better understand the structure and behavior of complex biological molecules, which can then be used to develop new medicines, improve agrochemicals, or design new materials. Organic chemistry also provides the foundation for understanding the chemistry of the environment and the climate.
