Hyperoxia
Hyperoxia is a medical condition caused by an excess of oxygen in a person's bloodstream. It can be either acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term). Its causes vary from oxygen supplementation, to exposure to an environment of high concentrations of oxygen, to certain medical conditions. Hyperoxia can lead to a number of serious health issues such as lung damage, eye damage, and neurological damage. It also increases the risk of developing a heart attack or stroke, as well as other types of organ damage. It is important to treat hyperoxia in a timely manner to avoid long-term health risks. Treatment involves reducing environmental oxygen levels or decreasing oxygen supplementation, as well as other medications and therapies. Hyperoxia is an important medical condition to be aware of and to diagnose and treat promptly.
