Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasmosis is a serious parasitic infection caused by the protozoan parasite Toxoplasma gondii. It can be transmitted to humans and animals through contact with contaminated water or food, from ingestion of uncooked or undercooked meat, and through contact with infected cats. It can cause severe and life-threatening illness, especially among pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals, and newborns. Treatment with antibiotics and preventive measures are available, and it is important to take these into consideration in order to reduce the risk of infection.
