Sphenoidal Sinuses
The sphenoidal sinuses are two small cavities located within the sphenoid bone of the skull. They are lined with mucosa, a thin layer of tissue that helps trap and remove dust and other particles from the air we breathe. The sphenoidal sinuses can be prone to inflammation, which can cause symptoms such as sinus congestion, headache, and facial pain. Due to its location deep within the skull, the sphenoidal sinuses can be a difficult area to treat with antibiotics and surgical interventions. Therefore, maintaining good sinus health and preventing sinus infections is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. Additionally, the sphenoidal sinuses are important structures in the face and skull that contribute to the appearance of the face and to sinus drainage.
