Sore Throat Remedies

Sore throats are a common, but unpleasant symptom of a variety of common illnesses, including colds and flu. Sore throat remedies are used to provide relief from the irritation and inflammation of the throat. Most sore throat remedies are over-the-counter medications, such as lozenges, sprays, and gargles. A few home remedies, such as ginger and warm water, can be used instead of medication. In some cases, a sore throat can indicate a more severe illness, such as the strep throat or mononucleosis, so consulting a doctor is important if symptoms persist. Sore throat remedies can provide quick relief from the symptoms and help prevent further complications.
