Sinus Drainage
Sinus drainage is the normal flow of mucus from the sinus cavities, which are located in the head and face, to the nose and throat. It is an essential process for keeping the sinus cavities clear of mucus, dust, pollen, and other irritants. Furthermore, it helps to promote proper air flow and ventilation through the sinuses, reducing the risk of infection and congestion. Sinus drainage also helps to reduce inflammation around the affected area, which can be useful in treating sinus infections. Improper drainage, on the other hand, can lead to chronic sinus infections and associated symptoms, such as nasal congestion, headaches, and facial pain. Appropriate treatment is thus necessary to ensure normal sinus drainage.
