Sensory Systems

The sensory systems of the body allow organisms to interact with their environment. They are responsible for the detection and interpretation of external stimuli, including sound, light, pressure, and chemical signals. These systems generate information that can be used to control movements, or to form memories and direct behavior. They are critical for survival, as they enable the organism to respond to changes in the environment and to potential threats. Understanding how these systems work can help us develop treatments for neurological and sensory disorders, and create better products and technology designed to interact with people.
