Rheumatology

Rheumatology is a subspecialty of internal medicine that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases, such as arthritis and osteoporosis, and autoimmune disorders, such as lupus and gout. It is a highly specialized field, and rheumatologists are specially trained to recognize and address the wide range of illnesses, which usually affect joints and muscles, as well as other causes of pain and disability. Rheumatology draws upon medical, physical, and behavioral therapies to help patients manage the pain and disability associated with their conditions and prevent further disability. It is an important specialty in today's world as it helps to improve the quality of life of patients with rheumatologic conditions.
