Persistent Postural-Perceptual Dizziness

Persistent postural-perceptual dizziness (PPPD), also known as chronic subjective dizziness, is a condition characterized by a feeling of constant unsteadiness or dizziness. People with this condition often have difficulty maintaining stable posture and may experience vertigo, nausea and many other symptoms. PPPD is thought to be caused by a malfunction of the balance system in the brain and can be triggered by psychological or physical stress. PPPD is a debilitating condition that affects the lives of millions of people worldwide and is often misdiagnosed and undertreated. Treatment options may include psychotherapy, medications, vestibular rehabilitation, and lifestyle modifications. With the right treatment plan, people with PPPD can improve their quality of life and reduce their symptoms.
