Palate

Expander A palate expander is a device used in orthodontic treatment to widen the dental arch, or the jawbone of the upper teeth. It works by actively pressing against the molars, which causes the bones to move apart. This process increases the space between the teeth and allows for new teeth to come in. Palate expanders are most commonly used in the treatment of crowding, an abnormal positioning of the teeth, and for correction of cross-bites. They can also be used to correct a narrowed palate. Palate expansion plays an important role in creating a healthy and aesthetically pleasing smile, and is a safe and effective way of correcting dental anomalies.
