Ethmoidal Sinuses
Ethmoidal sinuses are two of the four types of sinuses in the human body. They're located within the skull in the spongy layer of bone between the eyes and nose known as the ethmoid bone. Ethmoidal sinuses are important because they moisten the air we breathe in and allow it to warm up before entering the lungs. They also help filter out allergens and pollutants. They can also become infected, leading to sinusitis, which can cause headaches, facial pain, and congestion. Treatment typically involves antibiotics, decongestants, nasal sprays, and nasal irrigation.
