Endocrine Surgery
Endocrine surgery is a specialized area of surgery that deals with the diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases related to the endocrine system. Endocrine surgery involves both the removal of an organ or tissue, as well as the excision or replacement of endocrine glands, such as the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. Common conditions that can be treated through endocrine surgery include thyroid nodules, goiter, thyroid cancer, parathyroid adenoma, Cushing’s syndrome, Graves’ disease, and cancer of the adrenal glands. Endocrine surgery is used to improve the quality of life of those suffering from endocrine-related disorders and can bring relief to many patients. It is a safe, minimally invasive technique that has been proven to reduce the risk of further complications among patients.
