Croup
Croup is a respiratory condition that typically affects young children. It is caused by a virus that makes the upper airway swell and results in a distinctive bark-like cough. Symptoms may also include a hoarse voice and difficulty breathing. Treatment for croup usually involves humidified air, corticosteroids and other medications to relieve the swelling, helping to reduce the intensity of the symptoms. Early treatment is important to help a child breathe more comfortably and prevent complications.
