Craniofacial Reconstruction

Craniofacial reconstruction is a surgical technique used to repair facial features that have been damaged or altered due to trauma, disease, or birth defects. It involves the use of bone grafts and tissue-engineered implants to reconstruct a patient’s face in order to improve aesthetics and functionality. Its primary purpose is to restore normal appearance and function of the face, while restoring a patient’s confidence and self-esteem. Craniofacial reconstruction is a complex, multi-disciplinary process that requires a team of specialists to design, plan, and execute the surgery. The benefits of craniofacial reconstruction extend beyond aesthetics and functionality; it has been shown to improve quality of life and social reintegration for those who undergo the procedure.
