Astigmatism
Astigmatism is an eye condition that causes blurred vision due to an irregularly shaped cornea. Astigmatism can affect one or both eyes, and can occur in combination with other refractive errors. It is caused by a deviation in the normal shape of the cornea, which is the clear front surface of the eye. Astigmatism can cause blurred vision at any distance and can worsen over time if not corrected. Common treatments for astigmatism include eyeglasses, contact lenses, refractive surgery, and vision therapy. Treating astigmatism can help improve vision and decrease associated symptoms such as eye strain, headaches, and fatigue.
