Joint Stiffness

Joint stiffness is a condition characterized by difficulty in moving one's joints due to pain or stiffness. It is a very common symptom of various medical conditions, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Joint stiffness can have a major impact on one's quality of life, impacting daily activities including walking, lifting, and climbing stairs. Treatment often aims to reduce inflammation, improve joint range of motion, and reduce pain. Physical therapy and exercise, as well as medications and heat or cold therapy, may be used to relieve joint stiffness and improve flexibility.
