Arthritis Surgery
Arthritis surgery is a procedure to help control the pain and swelling associated with the disease. It is usually recommended after more conservative treatments such as medications, physical therapy, and lifestyle changes have failed to provide relief. The surgery can help restore function and improve quality of life by decreasing pain and swelling, and improving range of motion in the affected joint. Depending on the joint and severity of the arthritis, the surgery may involve joint replacement or reconstructive procedures such as arthroscopy, bone grafting, cartilage transplantation, or synovectomy. The goal of these procedures is to improve pain, mobility, and strength in the affected joint.
