Transplant Coordination

Transplant coordination is a process in which a patient and their doctor work together to plan, coordinate and manage a successful organ transplant procedure. It involves careful planning and assessment of the patient’s overall health, an evaluation of potential donor organs, as well as overseeing the surgery, post-operative care, and follow-up of the patient. The result of a successful transplant coordination process is an improved survival rate and an optimized quality of life for the transplant recipient. Transplant coordination plays an important role in modern healthcare as it allows patients to access critical organ transplants in a timely and safe manner. This is critical for the health and wellbeing of a patient and can significantly improve or even save the life of the transplant recipient.
