Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is a condition in which the protective cartilage that covers the ends of bones in a joint breaks down, causing pain and discomfort. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis and is a major cause of disability in adults over 65. It can affect any joint in the body, but is most commonly found in the hands, hips, knees, and spine. Treatment focuses on pain relief and improving mobility. Exercise, physical therapy, medications, and sometimes surgery can help manage osteoarthritis symptoms and slow the progression of the disease.
