Calorimetry
Calorimetry is the science of measuring the heat of physical or chemical change. It is used to quantify the amount of energy released or absorbed during a reaction, and can be used to determine the enthalpy, or heat, of a reaction. Calorimetry is an important tool in the fields of thermodynamics and chemistry as it allows researchers to study the behavior of chemicals, materials, and reactions under different conditions. It is also used to understand how different reactions release or absorb energy, and to measure the heat released or absorbed when boiling or condensing liquids. Calorimetry can be used to measure the heat given off when new materials are formed from elements, or when energy is released from the breaking of a chemical bond, making it useful for the study of energy storage and transfer.
