Wound Healing
Wound healing is the body’s natural response to skin or tissue damage. It is a complex process that typically involves four main stages—inflammation, tissue growth, repair, and remodeling. Wound healing is essential for our survival and helps us to recover from injuries or surgical procedures. It is also essential for maintaining healthy skin, providing immune protection, and ensuring proper scar formation. Wound healing can be divided into two main types: acute and chronic. Acute wound healing is the faster process that usually occurs shortly after the wound forms, while chronic wound healing refers to wounds that take longer time to heal or heal improperly due to infection, trauma, or health conditions. Proper wound healing is essential to ensure a successful outcome and prevent complications such as infections, skin discoloration, and scarring.
