Two-photon Excitation Microscopy

Two-photon excitation microscopy is a powerful imaging technique widely used in biological research. The technique uses two photons of light to excite molecules in cells and tissues, allowing for the imaging of structures and processes within living organisms with a high level of detail. This technique enables researchers to observe cellular processes in real time, such as cell division and migration, and to study the interactions between cells, tissues and organs. Moreover, two-photon excitation microscopy offers a significant advantage over conventional illumination methods, as it can penetrate deep into thick, optically-scattering tissue, allowing researchers to study the dynamics of tissue development and the effects of drugs on cellular processes.
