Systems Biology
Systems biology is a field of research that seeks to understand biological systems by studying them as complex, interconnected networks of molecules, cells and tissues. It aims to understand how the various components of a biological system interact to carry out specific functions. Systems biology has the potential to revolutionize drug discovery and the diagnostics and treatment of diseases by enabling researchers to uncover the causes of health, disease and aging. It has been used to develop new drugs for cancer, Alzheimer's disease, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Systems biology has also been used to better understand the mechanisms behind the development of cancer and genetic diseases, as well as to identify targets for new therapies.
