Ribonucleotides

Ribonucleotides are molecules composed of a ribose sugar, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base. They are the primary structural building blocks of ribonucleic acid (RNA), which is a single-stranded nucleic acid molecule involved in the transfer of genetic information from DNA to proteins. Ribonucleotides are critical for the accurate and efficient functioning of the human body. They are involved in a variety of cellular metabolic processes, including protein translation and DNA replication. Ribonucleotides have also been identified as potential therapeutic agents to treat a variety of diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer’s. Their ability to regulate gene expression and protein translation has made them a target of interest in drug discovery and development.
