Regulons
Regulons are a group of genes that are functionally related and often form complexes to control the expression of other genes. They are present in all three domains of life, and are integral in many cellular processes, including metabolism, development, and virulence. Regulons are often subject to complex gene regulation, where the activity of multiple genes is impacted by the activity of a single gene. This allows for more precise and efficient regulation of cellular processes. Furthermore, the study of regulons can provide insight into the evolution and adaptation of organisms to different environments. As such, regulons are important for understanding many biological phenomena, including disease processes.
