Properdin

Properdin is a protein that is involved in the complement system in humans. The complement system is an important component of the immune system and can help defend the body against infection by activating the immune response. Properdin helps to activate the complement system by interacting with other proteins, leading to the release of inflammatory molecules that help to recruit white blood cells and destroy invading pathogens. Properdin also plays a role in controlling the body's inflammatory response, as it can bind to certain molecules that regulate the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which can help to reduce inflammation in the body. Properdin is important for proper immune function, as it helps to identify and destroy pathogens, as well as regulate the body's inflammatory response.
