Phenetics

Phenetics is a type of taxonomy that assigns organisms a numerical score based on their physical or morphological characteristics. It is used as an alternative to traditional taxonomy when traditional methods, such as DNA analysis, are complicated or not feasible. Phenetics enables a more objective approach to classifying organisms and is often used in fields such as ecology and evolution. It is also used to explore relationships between species and to better understand the evolution of species. Phenetics is a useful tool for researchers studying the systematics of organisms where traditional methods cannot be applied.
