Neutrophils

Neutrophils are the most abundant type of white blood cell in the human body. They are involved in defending us against bacterial and fungal infections. Neutrophils have a key role in inflammation and wound healing by killing microbes, secreting metabolites, and triggering other processes. They also help protect us from cancer. Neutrophils are essential for optimal health and so their proper functioning is vitally important. They can be monitored using standard medical tests to provide information about a person's overall health.
