Molecular System Biology
Molecular system biology is an interdisciplinary field of research that combines aspects of computer science, mathematics, physics, and chemistry to study the behavior and interactions of individual molecules in living systems. It uses sophisticated computational tools to uncover the effects of multiple molecular and biological processes on each other. By understanding the complex relationships between and among different molecules, molecular system biology provides insights into how organisms develop, regulate, adapt and respond to their environment. It is increasingly becoming a powerful tool to aid in the discovery of treatments and therapies for disease. In addition, biochemical and molecular data from molecular systems can be used to inform decision-making in healthcare, agriculture, and industry.
