Molecular Conformation
Molecular conformation is the 3-dimensional arrangement of the atoms within a molecule. It is important for the functioning of molecules and plays a role in their reactivity, solubility, and structure. Many molecules can adopt a variety of conformations, and particular conformations are more likely to occur due to differences in stability. Molecular conformation plays a role in a wide range of processes in biochemistry, including enzyme catalysis and drug delivery, and can be studied using a variety of experimental and computational techniques.
