Macromolecules

Macromolecules are large molecules that are essential to most life forms, such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). They are made up of thousands of atoms and are the building blocks of life, providing structure and function to all organisms. Macromolecules have a wide variety of uses, such as the formation of the cell walls of organisms, providing energy through metabolic pathways, and providing the instructions for inheritance and development via genetics. Macromolecules are essential for all forms of life, as they are the foundation of life as we know it.
