Cell Surface Proteins
Cell surface proteins are molecules located on the surface of a cell that play an important role in modulating the cell's behavior. They are responsible for controlling cellular processes such as cell adhesion, growth, differentiation, and recognition. Cell surface proteins can interact with other proteins, receptors and ligands, allowing cells to communicate with their environment. Furthermore, they are involved in the development and progression of many diseases, such as cancer and autoimmune diseases. Therefore, they can be used as therapeutic targets, helping to identify potential drug targets and develop new medications.
