Cd Coreceptors
The CD coreceptors are trans-membrane proteins that act as co-receptors for the binding of other trans-membrane proteins to cell surfaces. They are essential for many cell-signalling pathways, such as T-cell activation, and for the efficient uptake of extracellular material, such as nutrients and waste. They play a vital role in development and homeostasis of tissues and organs, as well as in cell differentiation, migration, and growth. Their importance is especially evident in the central nervous system and in the immune system, where they are essential to the normal functioning of these systems. CD coreceptors have become increasingly important to biomedical research, with the potential to develop novel treatments for diseases such as cancer, autoimmunity, and neurological disorders.
